Holidays make my brain fuzzy. Thanksgiving in particular, because of ALL THAT FOOD. I tend to forget about everything the week leading up to and the week following a major holiday.
However, this year's was pretty good, so I managed to remember some important details....
Like the fact that my parents and I traveled to Chapel Hill the weekend before the holiday so that they could meet Ian's parents. I'll be honest, I was kind of nervous. My mom, though fun and lovable, can be a little much sometimes. And my dad, though very interesting and smart, can be incredibly quiet. But all in all I think it went great and I hope our families can enjoy many more occasions together. It certainly gave me something else to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving was Thanksgiving. Too much food, too many dishes, too many questions about what I'm doing with my life.
It's been a good year, though, and I am thankful for so much. And I cannot wait to spend more holiday time with all my "families".
I hope everyone dear to me (near and otherwise) had a wonderful holiday and I hope to see them all soon!
